Beaver season closes May 15th. Had one spot were the beaver moved in at road side and because the season is still open have no choice but to take them. 5 days from now they would have been nuisance beaver and I would have got paid $65.00 per beaver and mileage. No matter the fur is still very thick and should bring a descent price as well as the tail and castor. Believe it or not there was a few spots on the pond that had iced over from yesterday. Cool weather here still and Thursday night will be minus 4. Put 2 traps in and picked up 2 this morning.

I like that, "had no choice but to take them" (unless that's in your trapline license or something). Nice that you saved your local gov some tax money and not wait a few days. Good looking plews :)

Those are nice looking beaver. Sort of a Catch 22 when it is near the end of season.

Our beaver season used to end April 15th in Ontario, but that was to early for many of us in the Northwest who wanted to get spring beaver in open water. So they extended the date by one month. The Eastern part of the Province the beaver would be worthless and no value this time of year, but for us here the beaver still has a good pelt. Location sometimes is a asset.
