I was pleasantly suprised with the coyote prices. I did have one bought back. I knew they were going to do ok but they far exceeded my expectations for my own furs. I'm not sure if the auction was good for everyone, but so far i'm happy. Maybe I just caught more and better coyotes this year...... 8) :D

Fox...........not to thrilled. Average of $26. I had one baught back.

Awaiting beaver, mink, otter, muskrats, raccoon and fisher.

I got $16 USD for my beaver, which came out to $20 CAD. I was happy, I was expecting to get about half that

wolf- Tell David (and the big guy upstairs who made it) nice work on that reddie!!! Like I said, probably worth about half my collection!!

I forgot the auction was already going on because I keep thinking about the coons on Sunday. Sold my nicer grinner for $4 so probably worth dinking with and sold my nicer skunk (still only partial stripe) for $11!!!! Party on. That one was in a coni and didn't even spray. Another skunk went for a buck. So it goes...

So far the sale is not promising for what has sold. Grey fox was not good at all. Yotes are still in demand for better quality. Richard how did you make out with all yours. Mink well that's not exciting. David got $22.00 for one them down hill. Beaver was disappointing. I'm $9.00 ahead of Dave for average on the beaver. Otter was another hard sell. Sunday will be the day when they start to sell the long fur. To keep many of you Bob Cat trappers in suspense they have that the last day. And the 120.000 mink section 3 were ranch. Badger did not bad for better grades, I think top lot was $100.00.

I will tell David that NPC

If your happy then I'm happy...lol. Yotes will be good for a few more years. And your right better quality and colour bring better prices.

I only sent up 5 yotes this time around. 39.20 ave and 84.00 high. Sent 1 skunk up sold for 11.00 which was a pleasant surprise. I may give them more attention next year. Skunks did well. I will be buying a skunk pole this year. The bulk of my fur will be in the next sale. Drop off is April 18th. Not happy with the grading on my yotes though. Still waiting for the coon and cat sale. Ended up with 8 beaver but will not send them up. Not going to give them away, will take another avenue for them. Badgers seemed to do ok, will have two badgers in the next sale. Will post my beaver pics in my thread shortly.

Nice to hear from you Richard!! I kinda miss your semi-daily reporting of your line results :)

You and I must have had a stinker in the same lot :) . If I could get a Hamilton for every 3rd or 4th pepe plus pull the essence out, I'd gladly put everyone of those suckers up (the smell doesn't really bother me unless it absolutely fresh and in my face). The problem is the rest of the world.... The $11 one I didn't even have to wash and his stripe wasn't overly white. Lucked out on that one.

If I can ask, what didn't you like about your yote grades?? I'll probably send 3 of those ditch trashed ones my buddy found this winter up in April. The more I work them, the more I think they got tossed because a country buyer wouldn't buy them on the round. I don't expect much but its more of an experiment to see a benchmark of what they get graded. If one or more get thrown in the burn pile, well, that's a learning lesson. Still have the skulls and/or teeth out of them mutts...

Nice action fish!! I'm still going to come up for a tutorial on your methods sometime in the summer or early fall when you're not busy (if that ever occurs) :)

Glad some of the fur is selling good guys. Anxious to see how everyone did on beaver. If the prices hold we 'll have a very odd line next year lol. Kinda wish we 'd shipped skunks somewhere now and saved the work and alum.

That's great fish94, you were I think 18.00 bucks off top price for your badger, good going. Your yotes were also great. They will be good again next year.

I had the opportunity to listen to the skunk auction live. I think it was the best bidding action of the sale so far. Real demand for the striped stinkers. Wish I caught more of them.

I was just shy of $4 average on my rats, with 4 bought back according to the auction sales summary and 7 bought back according to the catalogues.

I averaged $4.83 on the 70 that sold. Safe to say disappointed.
Last year I averaged over $10 per muskrat. I expected some decline but not a decrease of over 50%. Looks like I will turn my attention to coyotes next year.

Yeah, its hard coming off of a bubble but the last 5 or so years has been that way with mrats I'm afraid. I sold a good number of rats finished to country buyers 15-20 years ago for $2.25-2.50. If those guys did 50-100% better than that selling at auction, those prices would have been anywhere from the high $3s to $5, so similar to what they are now.

I plan to try to get k-9s next season but if the opportunity presented itself where I could get 50-100 rats, I'd do it because half of it its the fun & adventure & work of the whole process. Its something I can't do sitting at my desk...

Funny. The coon auction hasn't even started and Tman has 2 pages already on the lamenting, blaming NAFA, blaming others, and some pragmatists of the reality of what things are. How many pages will there be by tomorrow morning??

WoW, that was dismal!!! I'm going to finish my last 6 160 coon cubbies for next season so I can catch as many skunks as possible. They appear to have more of a future than coons...

But who knows, oil may go back up and the Russians play nice with everyone and they come back to the market. One can only dream of better days...

Well I'd say my coons are all done, I have a section 3 left to go on the block, but that won't sell. I ended it with an average of "Bought Back" on my coons
